Outside, it’s the North American version of an Amazonian downpour. Meaning? You’re stuck inside. Here are our top 10 things to do on a gloomy, rainy day.
  1. Channel your inner Picasso. Get out a sketch pad, paint and pencils and put that creative energy to work.
  2. Write to a friend using fabulous stationery. Everybody loves getting a letter in the mail.
  3. Light some lavender incense and scented candles (careful not to leave them burning) and put on some soothing music. Take 40 minutes to completely de-stress.
  4. Make it a beauty day. Apply a hair or face mask, give yourself a pedicure or run a bubble bath. Make sure not to soak for more than 20 minutes, to avoid drying out your skin.
  5. Pick a task you’ve been avoiding (yes, we’re talking about updating your resumé!) and do it! You won’t feel like you’re missing out on a gorgeous day.
  6. Draw up a list of 10 things you’d like to do before Labour Day. Make the first thing something you can do tomorrow…when the sun is shining.
  7. Is your room so messy that a small animal could be living under those piles of clothes? Today is the day to organize, throw junk out and de-clutter.
  8. Make a tall pitcher of raspberry tea. Slice up lemon, orange and cucumber into thin slivers for an exotic-tasting brew.
  9. Catch up on some reading (like the latest issue of FASHION18).
  10. Been thinking of transforming yourself into a sultry brunette? Grab that box of hair colour and invite a friend over to help you out.
